Our Melbourne Infrastructure business is experiencing further growth due to recently secured, high profile Projects. We are currently seeking applications from Senior Structural Engineers with extensive experience supervising and leading teams to successfully achieve required Infrastructure Project outcomes.

 

The ideal candidate will not only bring their technical expertise in the Infrastructure sector, they relate well to and motivate others. We are looking for a leader who will support and bring out the best in their team – ensuring the focus remains on safety, quality, cost and schedule in the planning and execution of the Project work.

 

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Developing a thorough understanding of the project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
  • Organize, execute and coordinate task assignments from project set-up to completion that contribute to overall Project(s) delivery
  • Developing and maintaining the project’s scope of work documentation and revise as required during the design evolution
  • Preparing a list of engineering deliverables and time-based functions to facilitate the planning and control of the engineering budget
  • Supervise and direct technical project staff in conjunction with the Engineering Manager in the preparation of preliminary engineering reports, designs, plans and specifications, and contract bid documents
  • Managing and reviewing the Engineering Work Packages (EWP) associated with all deliverables and time-based functions to ensure that budgets and schedules are being met, and taking corrective action if necessary
  • Supervising, training and motivating Project personnel to achieve Project KPIs and desired outcomes
  • Reviewing and approving structural engineering and design standards
  • Reviewing and approving structural technical deliverables (specifications, datasheets, drawings, etc.)
  • Performing design reviews and engineering discipline coordination

 

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Bachelor of Structural engineering degree and registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Demonstrated experience leading Structural teams for Infrastructure (Bridges) Projects
  • Previous experience in an Engineering consultancy or construction environment
  • Ability to rapidly understand and assimilate project and client specific requirements
  • Demonstrated leadership and Client liaison skills
  • Strong deliverable focus and ability to plan work
  • Excellent understanding and belief in safety principles, standards and legislation
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
