The Engagement Manager will be responsible for helping grow revenue from advisory opportunities and to deepen the financial procurement and strategic expertise within Hatch. This will be accomplished by developing and executing a strategy to generate new business and by developing infrastructure advisory related engagement delivery capabilities within Hatch. A market priority will be to develop long-term relationships with executives at target organizations. Initial focus will be on the Infrastructure sector in Canada, US and other markets. He/she must ensure that the quality of the talent within the practice is suitable to meet and exceed the identified business objectives. This individual will be a leader within the Hatch advisory team with opportunity to progress in a career by contributing to the growth of the practice.

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Refine Infrastructure Advisory service offering in Canada to best meet market demand
  • Personally engage with key clients to establish strategic relationships and maximize benefits of those relationships to Hatch  
  • Manage the delivery of Hatch engagements to meet client expectations and Hatch quality standards
  • Build constructive relationships with leaders across Hatch  
  • Grow the talent pool able to deliver advisory projects in infrastructure sector.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of business experience in infrastructure sector and/or professional services.
  • Previous consulting experience at a senior level with strong capabilities in business development, client management and team development.
  • Well established profile, network of relationships, and strong reputation within the infrastructure projects community.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure projects finance, procurement, governance and risk management.
  • International experience an asset.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in consulting engagement management, business development, and practice management. Evidence should include the following:

Engagement Management

- Planned and managed large or complex consulting engagements;

- managed the engagement team to the production of quality deliverables on time and on budget;

- ensured buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client organization;

- ensured the quality of deliverables meets with client expectations; and

- managed engagement risk and project economics

- skilled in financial modelling and project finance advisory

- skilled in strategic procurements / P3 / setting up governance frameworks for infrastructure projects

Business Development

- developed and maintained relationships with decision makers at key clients;

- led pursuit teams and proposal development efforts including innovative approaches and methodologies

- led successful client oral presentations

People Development

- Successfully developed consulting teams, from recruitment to on the job development and retention

- valued by his colleagues and direct reports as a team player and as a coach.
