Hatch is currently seeking an SAP HCM (Human Resources) Consultant for our Hatch Digital group. This opportunity is located in our Mississauga office, starting October 2018.

The iPas TF Team in Hatch Digital configures, programs, and maintains the SAP enterprise applications used by Hatch’s Shared Services, Management, and client-facing Project Teams. These components include SAP ECC (modules include HCM, Time, FI, CO, SD, PS and CPM), SuccessFactors, C4C, Fiori LaunchPad, Business Warehouse, Business Objects as well as some other cloud based HR solutions.

As a Functional Consultant (Solution Analyst) within this group, you will proactively work with HRIS, business owners, business representatives, users, and other Functional Consultants to understand and translate business requirements into tangible solutions.

The SAP HCM Consultant will be responsible for design, configuration, and implementation of solutions. From a functional perspective, responsibilities include issue resolution and user support of all aspects of the HR-related systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design and implement systems solutions: In collaboration with other team members (other Functional Consultants and Technical Team members), provide advice to management and stakeholders, recommend a course of action for required solutions in the following areas: solution scoping, requirements analysis, gap analysis, feasibility, functional design, application configuration, technical specification, testing, production deployment, support and training.
  • Actively engage with HRIS and all interested stakeholders and representative user groups in determining business requirements and solution strategy. Communicate recommendations, liaise with Technical Team members, review progress, demonstrate interim work results, conduct user testing and release to production.
  • Respond to business and project priorities and negotiate scope, budget and timing for fixes and enhancements with the business and the development teams.
  • Prepare documentation according to standards and need. Adhere to and contribute to Hatch standards applicable to the SAP environment.
  • Functional testing including unit, integration and regression testing.
  • Keep abreast of SAP advances and inform the business of any business opportunities or constraints due to such developments.
  • Escalated production support as needed.
  • Support organizational change.


Skills / Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or Business degree or equivalent
  • Must have had 1 full SAP HCM implementation project
  • Must have at least 3-5 years of SAP HCM support and ongoing system maintenance experience
  • Superior attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Experience in establishing a project plan and facilitating the setting of priorities
  • Should have knowledge and working experience of various functionalities of HCM including:
    • Benefits – flexible benefits and International
    • International Assignments
    • Compensation Management including long term incentives
    • Learning Solution and Authoring Environment
    • Integration of SAP with third parties including SuccessFactors
    • Integration points within SAP HCM to FI-CO, SD, PS
  • Experience in working with ABAP developers on technical solutions; basic ABAP understanding is a plus, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent inter-personal skills
  • Results-oriented, self-starter, capable of working independently and within a team environment to meet deadlines
  • Ability to self-learn new systems and technologies
  • Willing to work outside of normal business hours as part of a global team and to travel if required

  • Experience with SuccessFactors
  • Experience with the Fiori launchpad, BW, S/4HANA
