Recent growth of the advisory practice has created an immediate need for high performing individuals to join our team in the role of Senior Principal and embrace a challenging career in a progressive environment.

As part of the Advisory team Hatch seeks a suitably qualified and experienced consulting professional to help lead and develop Advisory engagements across North America. Optimal candidates will have a mixture of superior technical skills related to either infrastructure, metals or energy combined with high energy levels, team development and project management skills. As a Senior Principal the successful candidate will be responsible for helping grow revenue from and broaden the scope of advisory opportunities while continuing to grow the execution capacity and competence of teams within Hatch. This will be accomplished by developing and executing a strategy to generate new business and deliver on Client expectations. A market priority will be to develop long-term relationships with executives at target organizations. Initial focus will be in Western North America. He/she must ensure that the quality of the engagements within the practice is suitable to meet and exceed the identified business objectives. The individual will be a leader within the Hatch advisory team with opportunity to progress in a career by contributing to the growth of the practice.

 

Specific accountabilities include:

  • Refine and develop the Infrastructure/Metals/Energy Advisory service offering in North America
  • Personally engage with key clients to establish strategic relationships and maximize benefits of those relationships to Hatch 
  • Manage the delivery of Hatch engagements to meet client expectations and Hatch quality standards
  • Build constructive relationships with Senior leaders across Hatch
  • Grow the talent pool able to deliver advisory projects in Western North America across the metals/infrastructure/energy sectors.

 

Key requirements are:

  • Minimum of 12+ years of business experience in appropriate sector and/or professional services.
  • Previous consulting experience at a senior level with strong capabilities in business development, client management and team development is a must.
  • Well established profile, network of relationships, and strong reputation within the infrastructure/metals/energy projects community.
  • Deep understanding of infrastructure/metals/energy projects finance, procurement, governance and risk management, experience in delivering transformation projects, defining target operating models, change management.
  • International experience an asset.
  • The ability to direct, lead and engage a team of diverse technical and advisory professionals on projects and programs
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and the ability to distill value during projects as both Sponsor and Manager
  • Travel 30-45% to Client sites across North America

     

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a successful track record in consulting operations management, business development, and practice management. Evidence should include the following:

 

Operations Management

- Develop, sold, planned and managed large or complex consulting engagements;

- managed the engagement teams to the production of quality deliverables on time and on budget;

- ensured buy-in of proposed solutions from top management levels at the client organization;

- ensured the quality of deliverables meets with client expectations; and

- managed engagement risk and project economics

- highly skilled in managing Client relationships and expectations

 

Business Development

- developed and maintained relationships with key decision makers at critical clients;

- led pursuit teams and proposal development efforts including innovative approaches and methodologies

- developed and led successful client oral presentations

 

People Development

- Successfully developed consulting teams, from recruitment to on the job development and retention

- valued by his/her colleagues and direct reports as a team player, as a coach and a leader.
