The Hatch Advisory Practice fills the gap between technological innovation and strategy consulting to drive sustainable growth of the bottom line of our clients. We are growing at a very rapid pace across the globe and we are looking for Business Analysts to join our dynamic and passionate team in Perth.

 

As a Business Analyst, you will work within collaborative teams, which include highly motivated management consultants supported by world class technical and operational experts sourced from Hatch’s technical and project delivery divisions. This unique combination ensures that Hatch Advisory provides our Clients with actionable winning strategies and effective implementation support.

 

We are looking for business savvy individuals with strong technical aptitude to assist in delivering general advisory services within the mining, metal, process, energy, and infrastructure industries. Typical assignments include techno-economic due diligence, mergers and acquisition assistance, lender's engineer, asset management, business improvement, cost control, debottlenecking, technology and innovation roadmapping and other advisory services to support investment strategy and decisions.

Nature of Work:

  • Take responsibility for delivering segments of analysis within consulting projects
  • Work with Hatch and client project teams
  • Select and use a variety of business analysis tools and techniques
  • Work on a variety of projects, with exposure to several industries, geographies and project types
  • Undertake potentially frequent travel to client/project sites
  • Assist in the development of communications (proposals, reports, presentations, etc.)
  • Assist the clients to identify opportunities, create and execute strategy, achieve the expected outcomes, and sustain these outcomes through the development of technical strategies, key performance indicators and performance measures
  • Conduct appropriate audits or surveys to identify corrective or adjustment activities to ensure that improvement outcomes stay in line with the client's business needs
  • Facilitate workshops with clients
  • Report and present material to Hatch and/or clients as to outcomes achieved and future activities required to sustain and continuously improve
  • Identify and engage existing clients to further develop business opportunities
  • Identify and engage new clients to grow the practice
  • Work with team members to continuously improve practice services and capability

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Solid industry experience relevant to mining, metals, energy, or infrastructure. Specific experience in the mining or metallurgical industry is an asset
  • Proven experience in using research and analysis tools (particularly Microsoft Excel)
  • Ability to work independently and under own initiative, or actively contribute as an effective member of a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of software including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Experience working in a high-energy, deliverable-oriented environment with the ability to multi-task
  • Strong data analytics skills, including experience with business requirements gathering, analysis and ability to translate business requirements into technical process solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication is essential and competency in additional languages will be considered an asset.
