Aviation Engineer

We are seeking an Aviation Engineer to join our team  and provide engineering support on a wide array of on-going airports and aviation projects. This position would be based in our Mississauga office with potential involvement and travel to various global project sites.

 

Core responsibilities include:

  • Working with project engineers and other project team members on feasibility, design, tender, and construction deliverables;
  • Construction site visits and occasional inspection services;
  • Role in preliminary and detailed design of various airfield aviation projects;
  • Quality checking of designs, drawings, quantity calculations, and specifications;
  • Preparation of standard documentation – reports, specifications, drawings, calculations, letters, etc.;
  • Use relevant software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D, Excel, MicroStation) in course of design work;
  • Use and become familiar with relevant standards covering the airport and airfield environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from accredited University;
  • 4- 10 years’ experience in an engineering consulting firm;
  • Understanding of airports and aviation facilities and relevant design codes would be an asset;
  • Professional Engineering Designation with PEO or eligible to obtain is required;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and knowledge of MicroStation and AviPLAN would be an asset;
  • Previous involvement in airfield design and construction projects such as runways/taxiways/aprons including airfield geometric layout, and pavement design;
  • Experience in development of project layout and civil details and specifications;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential;
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently;
  • Ability to solve problems, complete assigned tasks efficiently, and meet project deadlines.
