We are seeking a Project Controls Lead to lead the delivery of project controls across major multi-discipline study phase projects within a professional services engineering environment. This role is accountable for planning, cost management, change control, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting. You will lead the reporting function and coordinate closely with clients, JV partners, and contractors to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely project controls outputs. This position requires demonstrated experience leading project controls teams and managing reporting requirements across complex projects in the mining and metals sector.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead delivery of the full Project Controls function, including planning, cost, change, progress, trending, forecasting, and reporting
  • Manage project reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness
  • Liaise with client, JV partner, vendor, and contractor Project Controls representatives
  • Maintain and control project baselines to support performance reporting
  • Oversee baseline change management, including trend identification and reporting
  • Measure project progress, including earned value and key performance indicators
  • Lead reporting on schedule, progress, and cost in line with agreed reporting cycles
  • Coordinate EPCM resource planning with JV partners and maintain current plans
  • Facilitate and lead weekly EPCM performance reviews

 

About You
You hold a degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical), Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Commerce, and bring 10+ years’ experience in project controls on high-value, multi-discipline study phase projects within the mining and metals sector, including at least 5 years leading project controls teams. You have detailed knowledge of estimating, cost control, planning, and quantity surveying, along with demonstrated experience in project reporting, change management, and performance measurement. You bring strong commercial acumen, project management capability, and experience coordinating across multiple stakeholders, including clients and JV partners. You have proven ability in facilitation, negotiation, and report writing, and are able to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and quality of deliverables. A strong focus on safety is essential.
