Environmental & Permitting Coordinator – Hatch / Ma’aden (KSA)

Location: Khobar, Saudi Arabia 

Hatch, in partnership with Ma'aden, is seeking a motivated Environmental Professional to join our Environment, People, and Place team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This role offers the opportunity to work on major mining and metals projects while developing practical experience in environmental assessment, permitting, compliance, and project delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the coordination of Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA) and environmental permitting activities.
  • Coordinate information requests between the client, consultants, subject matter experts, and engineering disciplines.
  • Schedule and participate in project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and track action items.
  • Manage the technical review process for consultant deliverables and monitor comment resolution.
  • Support alignment between environmental requirements, permitting obligations, and engineering design.
  • Maintain organized environmental records, submissions, approvals, and correspondence.
  • Assist with environmental reporting and project progress tracking.
  • Support implementation and monitoring of environmental approval conditions and ESIA commitments during project execution.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, monitoring activities, and environmental audits.Coordinate environmental monitoring programs to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide general project support to environmental specialists and project teams.
  • Stay informed on environmental best practices and industry developments.

 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Up to 4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Understanding of environmental impact assessment, permitting, monitoring, and compliance processes.
  • General knowledge of environmental topics including air quality, water, waste, noise, soil, biodiversity, and emergency preparedness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good document management and record-keeping capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with consultants, engineers, and project stakeholders.

Key Competencies :

  • Experience in environmental consulting, mining, industrial, or construction projects.
  • Familiarity with Royal Commission environmental requirements.
  • Experience supporting environmental studies, permit applications, or technical reviews.
  • Arabic language skills.Valid driver's license.
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Comfortable working in office, industrial, and construction environments.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive in seeking guidance and escalating issues when required.

 

Office Location and Working hours:  

Khobar 

Sunday to Thursday 8:00 AM- 5:00 PM.
