The position is based in Amherst, NY. Other possible home office locations include Boston (MA), Pittsburg (PA) or Tampa (FL).

 

This is a senior leadership position within the eGRID group of the Power division of Hatch. The successful candidate will be responsible to grow and drive forward the business in the field of renewable power generation (wind, solar, hybrid power systems), for both project delivery and consulting services for IPP, Owner-Operators, industrial clients, Utilities and lenders/investors.

 

Project delivery services - include front-end pre-feasibility and feasibility studies and execution-stage project delivery. This includes EPCM project delivery services, Owner’s Engineer services, Project/Construction Management services, and engineering services for all BoP components.

 

Consulting services – include site assessment, constraints analysis, environmental assessment, regulatory and permitting support, resource measurement and energy production assessment, technology assessment, value-engineering, interconnection and curtailment studies, due diligence/independent technical reviews, operational performance assessment, repowering forensic engineering, benchmarking studies, troubleshooting, condition monitoring, root cause analysis, repowering evaluations, end-of-life decommissioning studies, and O&M strategy.

 

The key responsibilities include:

 

  • Business development, client engagement, generating new business leads, key account management

 

  • Leading or participation in Bib/No/Bid discussions for potential opportunities, Leading the preparation and/or preparing proposals

 

  • With support from management, legal and the commercial team, negotiate & secure agreement and contracts

 

  • Develop annual business plan

 

  • Drive and manage growth across eGRID disciplines

 

  • Grow and supervise US Renewables core team

 

  • Develop and expand the eGRID consulting capabilities as well as Hatch brand in the market through thought leadership activities, such as keynote, panelist, workshop lead at symposiums/conferences, whitepaper and webcast.

 

 

Qualifications for the position include:

 

  • A degree in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering
  • 10 to 15 years of professional experience in development of utility-scale Renewable Power projects (wind, solar), experience with battery energy storage is a plus
  • Excellent understanding of renewables market dynamic, drivers and key players
  • Recognized strong technical expertise in either solar power generation or wind power generation
