Responsibilities of the Structural Engineer include: 

  • Develop, with the assistance of others, the man-hour budgets required to perform all structural engineering work based on required deliverables and time based functions. 

  • Prepare and/or review project standard specifications and design criteria 

  • Assist in the preparation and development of project specific procedures. 

  • Manage and review the development of the Engineering Work Packages associated with all deliverables and time based functions. 

  • Assist the Engineering Manager/Lead Structural Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule 

  • Work to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in structural documentation 

  • Promote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities 

  • Maintain structural engineering work procedures, specifications and computer aided design programs 

  • Prepare engineering calculations 

  • Prepare and contribute to technical memos and reports 

 

Qualifications  

  • BSc/BEng in Structural or Civil Engineering 

  • Minimum 4-10 years of experience working in an EPC environment  

  • Professional Engineer license. . Alternatively, registration as a candidate professional engineer actively working towards professional registration or regional equivalent 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 

  • Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards 

  • Experience with Staad Pro or similar structural analysis software
