Hatch is seeking an Architect to join our growing Brisbane team.We’re looking for a creative yet technically minded professional who understands the dynamics of large multidisciplinary organizations. Our work supports major engineering projects through the design and documentation of non-process buildings that are large, complex, and industrial in nature. These include administration and staff facilities, warehouses, laboratories, and manufacturing buildings. Current projects span mining operations, accommodation facilities, alternative energy initiatives, and innovative low-carbon manufacturing processes.
Beyond industrial projects, we also contribute to major urban developments, new communities, urban renewal, and placemaking. We’re expanding our capability to support infrastructure projects in transit, road and rail and looking ahead to education, health, and housing sectors. Regardless of project type, our team is people-focused, environmentally conscious, and committed to delivering clever, elegant, and purposeful design outcomes.
As an Intermediate Architect, you’ll collaborate with senior architects and graduates, gaining exposure to significant global projects and opportunities for leadership development. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop building and urban design concepts and produce drawings and reports across all design stages.
- Prepare room data, specifications, and design criteria.
- Coordinate inputs from discipline leads, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Manage documentation distribution through quality systems.
- Understand project controls, timekeeping, and budget tracking.
- Produce documentation using Autodesk Revit, ACC, and Navisworks.
- Mentor junior staff and oversee their work.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master of Architecture from an AACA-accredited program (or equivalent).
- 5+ years post-graduate experience.
- Architectural registration in Australia (or eligible under mutual recognition agreements).
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC, and ability to apply international standards.
- Proven experience delivering documentation for large-scale projects (samples required).
- Proficiency in Revit, ACC, Navisworks; working knowledge of Adobe Suite, SketchUp/Rhino; familiarity with Bentley tools is an advantage.
- Understanding of document control, quality systems, and project management principles.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design work and developing briefs, reports, and specifications.
