Our Civil Engineering team delivers a broad range of services across transport infrastructure projects, including site selection and planning, earthworks site grading, drainage modelling, spatial and digital terrain modelling, and flood impact assessments. Working closely with our wider Earth Sciences capability, the team supports projects across road and rail environments. We are looking to expand our team and welcome an experienced Civil Drafter to support project delivery for a period of 18 months. In this role, you will be responsible for the production and management of high-quality civil design drawings across multiple project phases. You will work closely with designers, engineers, and project teams to ensure drawings meet client, authority, and quality standards while contributing to the safe and efficient delivery of transport infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce high-quality civil drawings using AutoCAD across detailed design, construction, and as‑built phases
  • Prepare and issue drawing and PDF sets in accordance with project and client requirements
  • Support drawing document control, including file management, uploads/downloads, and drawing registers
  • Maintain drawing databases and standard detail libraries
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams
  • Liaise with the CAD Manager, Lead Civil Designer, engineers, and junior staff
  • Ensure drawings comply with relevant standards, authority requirements, and quality procedures
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to quality assurance, safety, and timely project delivery

About You

You will bring prior experience in a civil drafting role, with strong proficiency in AutoCAD and a solid understanding of civil infrastructure deliverables. Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads, or Civil 3D is advantageous but not essential. You hold an Associate Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent relevant qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Knowledge of road and rail authority standards is important, with TMR experience highly regarded. You take pride in your work, demonstrate high personal safety standards, and approach tasks with integrity, professionalism, and a customer-focused mindset. You enjoy working in small, collaborative teams, communicate effectively, and are well organised, with the ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
