Hatch is seeking a Document Controller to join our Information Management Team in Brisbane. This role offers the opportunity to support large, complex engineering projects while playing a key role in ensuring information is controlled, compliant, and accessible across project teams. Working closely with internal stakeholders and external parties, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day coordination of project documentation, system configuration, and information governance throughout the project lifecycle.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining project documentation and document control systems, ensuring information is accurate, compliant, and distributed effectively. You will support project teams by implementing document management procedures, providing system support and training, and maintaining high standards of quality and governance across all project documentation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing project-specific document control procedures and work instructions
- Configuring and maintaining document management systems, including permissions and metadata
- Managing document distribution matrices and controlled document workflows
- Processing, filing, formatting, and quality-checking project documentation and correspondence
- Monitoring compliance with project procedures and relevant standards, including ISO 19650
- Delivering document management training to project participants across multiple offices
- Supporting document handover, archiving, and close-out activities
- Providing responsive document management support to internal users and external stakeholders
About You
You bring experience in document control or information management gained on large engineering or infrastructure projects and are confident working within structured project environments. You communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of stakeholders and take pride in maintaining accurate, well‑governed project information. You have hands-on experience with document management systems, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of metadata and configuration management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, PDF editors, and file management tools is essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively across project teams and locations.
