Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking highly motivated Structural Bridge Engineers to join the Infrastructure Group in our Transportation team in Brisbane or Melbourne or Sydney.
Our Infrastructure business is experiencing growth due to a pipeline of high-profile projects and future workforce planning requirements.
The Structural Bridge Engineer provides support to the Principal Bridge Engineer and is responsible for the design of transport structures such as bridges, culverts, signs, retaining walls, and other associated structures. You will be provided with an opportunity to motivate and mentor team members and secure key roles on a variety of different projects for well-known, reputable Clients.
Key Responsibilities of this role include:
- Delivery of engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and procedures to ensure successful project completion
- Undertaking structural engineering analysis and design to Australian Standards
- Conducting structural condition assessments
- Preparing and checking engineering calculations, drawings, technical specifications and scopes of work
- Contributing to design reviews
- Client/Stakeholder engagement and /or management
- Awareness and assistance with commercial aspects of projects
- Assisting on bidding and tenders
- Attending site visits where required
- Mentoring junior staff
Key required qualifications and experience:
- 3 to 7 years of experience in the design, and delivery of bridge engineering packages within multi-disciplinary transport infrastructure projects
- Structural engineering design experience including bridges, culverts, retaining walls, sign structures
- Design experience in construction engineering or heavy construction industry will be an advantage
- Knowledge of industry and/or regulatory standards relating to structural engineering, including Australian codes and standards and in particular the DTMR
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and clients
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution
- Proficient with structural design software such as SpaceGass, ASBD, Strand7 and Midas
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Office packages
- RPEQ and CPEng not required but will be an advantage
