Hatch Brisbane is looking for a motivated Electrical Engineer, to join the Hydropower team in the Brisbane office. We are an inclusive and friendly group of highly capable individuals who will be on hand to help set you up to succeed in your role.  

 

As an experienced Electrical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to use your technical skills of electrical power generators and auxiliary systems to support the hydropower team through the delivery of hydropower consultancy projects including concept, feasibility, detailed design and construction support. Ideally you will have experience in the Australian or international hydropower sector and are ready to consult with our global electrical engineering specialists to produce deliverables in the electrical discipline.  

 

Tap into a wide variety of internal resources and collaborate with a globally connected team of hydropower experts. 

 
As the successful candidate, you will: 

  • Provide support to the wider multidisciplined hydropower team to produce electrical discipline. deliverables in greenfield and brownfield hydropower consulting projects. 

  • Short term travel from time to time to support the delivery of asset integrity projects for our key clients. 

  • Support business development activities of the regional hydropower business. 

  • Provide discipline specific support to the global hydropower business as required. 

 

You will bring to the role: 

  • Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering 

  • Solid relevant professional industry experience ideally in the design of Hydropower & Energy projects 

  • Strong understanding of hydroelectric generators, associated electrical balance of plant, controls and T&D equipment. 

  • Ability to interpret and communicate information of a complex nature 

  • Client service orientation and well-developed consulting skills 

  • An understanding of the business/organisation/marketing context of business solutions 

  • Current industry awareness and familiarity with relevant Australian Standards and specifications 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a diverse and multi-disciplinary environment. 

  • Current living and working rights in Australia (i.e. permanent residency or citizenship).
