Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Designer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Brisbane. 

PDG helps clients reach their business goals through a range of strong technical capabilities. We ensure world-class project delivery through the skills of our people, methodologies, governance, and systems. Our engineering and project management and construction disciplines ensure safe, efficient, and sustainable delivery of projects globally across the metals and mining, infrastructure, and energy sectors.

As the successful candidate, you will: 

• Understand the owner/user requirements and the project mission
• Perform conceptual layout work
• Lead the delivery of design and drafting of plant models using applicable standards, project technical specifications and enterprise or project procedures
• Lead the preparation of 3D equipment modelling and 3D design
• Interface with Lead Discipline Engineers, Design Co-Ordinator’s and other Lead Discipline Designers
• Lead and ensure the quality of engineering design details and special items drawings
• Provide input into capital estimates and project schedules.
• Participate in formal engineering review processes.
• Provision of on-site construction and commissioning technical support.

You will bring to the role: 

• Advanced Diploma of Engineering or equivalent
• Solid design and modelling experience
• Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPCM environment
• Ability to take instruction and work unsupervised
• Co-ordinate a team of electrical and instrumentation designers
• Proficient in the use of 3D and 2D CAD systems (Bentley preferred)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Large industrial process plant experience
