In this position, you will be responsible for delivering high quality functional safety outcomes throughout the entire safety lifecycle. You’ll work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to develop compliant safety solutions and provide expert guidance on industry standards and best practice.

You will play a key role in:

  • Leading functional safety activities from concept through to decommissioning
  • Facilitating hazard studies, risk assessments, and safety workshops
  • Guiding cross functional teams through safety-critical decisions and lifecycle milestones
  • Ensuring compliance with AS/IEC standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

You will bring recognised functional safety expertise, supported by TUV or FSEng qualifications and hands-on experience applying the full safety lifecycle. Your solid understanding of AS/IEC 61508, 61511 and 62061 enables you to deliver high quality Functional Safety Management Plans, Safety Requirements Specifications and SIL Verification Reports. With a background in instrumentation and control systems engineering, you navigate complex technical environments with confidence and provide practical, standards aligned guidance. You also draw on facilitator or leadership training to influence effectively across teams and have experience designing systems to AS 4024.1503. Your capability includes installing and commissioning Safety Instrumented Systems, developing fault trees, and using exida exSILentia for analysis. This is complemented by exposure to cybersecurity threat assessment workshops and operational experience supporting the full SIS lifecycle, including proof testing, modifications and decommissioning.
