We are seeking an experienced Lead Structural Designer to provide technical leadership in the delivery of high‑quality civil and structural design outcomes across a wide range of infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a senior designer who enjoys owning design coordination, guiding others, and contributing to complex, multidisciplinary project teams.The position supports infrastructure delivery from concept through to detailed design and execution, working closely with engineers and other disciplines to deliver coordinated, constructible, and compliant structural documentation. You will play a key role in shaping design quality and supporting consistent delivery across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the production of structural 3D models and 2D documentation using Autodesk Revit for infrastructure projects, including concrete, steel, and civil structures.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and coordination of Revit models, families, and templates in accordance with BIM and project standards.
- Deliver high‑quality design documentation such as general arrangement drawings, reinforcement detailing, steelwork drawings, and schedules.
- Drive effective coordination with civil, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines to achieve integrated design outcomes.
- Provide design input and drafting support to engineers by interpreting calculations, sketches, and mark‑ups.
- Participate in model coordination activities, clash detection processes, and constructability reviews.
- Review and check drawings prior to issue, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, codes, client requirements, and quality systems.
- Provide day‑to‑day technical guidance and leadership to designers and draftspersons, supporting capability uplift and continuous improvement.
About You
You hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Structural or Civil Engineering Drafting, or equivalent practical experience delivering civil and structural design within large, multidisciplinary project environments. You bring advanced capability in Autodesk Revit (Structure) and a strong understanding of structural documentation, construction methodologies, and coordination requirements. You are confident leading design tasks, working across disciplines, and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy. With strong communication skills and a collaborative approach, you manage competing priorities effectively and support safe, efficient, and well‑coordinated project delivery. Experience with BIM coordination tools, Australian Standards, or delivery in D&C or Alliance environments will be highly regarded.
