Hatch is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Proposal Process Lead & Team Lead, Australia Asia (AUA) to join our global Client Action Team (CAT). In this role, you will support sales efforts, guide the AUA proposal team, and develop team capabilities to help Hatch win work across the AUA region. Our global team brings experience in business development, marketing and pursuit management, engineering, and project management. While our backgrounds are diverse, our goal is singular: to help Hatch teams be more successful in their efforts to win work.

 

Based in Brisbane, you will lead the end-to-end proposal process for strategic pursuits, from RFP receipt through proposal submission and post-submittal support. You will also balance proposal resources across the region and participate as a member of CAT’s global proposal leadership team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker and experienced proposal and people manager with strong leadership, initiative, and a passion for helping teams win work.

 

As the successful candidate, you will:   

  • Partner with the Pursuit Manager to develop and implement the proposal management plan, including the action list, compliance matrix, and schedule. 
  • Organize and co-chair the proposal kick-off, status updates, content planning, and review meetings with the Pursuit Manager. 
  • Facilitate and contribute to proposal strategy meetings. 
  • As a persuasive messaging architect, challenge the proposal team to deliver our most compelling messages that speak to client hot buttons and reflect bespoke win themes.
  • Review proposal drafts and final versions for responsiveness, compliance, accuracy, quality, consistent writing style, and effective layout and design. 
  • Identify and escalate issues that may impact the proposal schedule or quality. 
  • Support post-submission clarifications and client requests.
  • Coordinate post-proposal evaluations and internal debriefs to capture insights that support ongoing improvements to the proposal development process.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to the regional proposal team, helping team members prioritize work, resolve challenges, and deliver high-quality, compliant submissions.
  • Balance proposal resources across the region, aligning team capacity with pursuit priorities and escalating resource constraints as needed.
  • Train, coach, and mentor proposal team members to strengthen proposal development practices, support consistent team performance, and encourage professional growth.
  • Ensure continuity of CAT support through effective handovers to Client Engagement Director peers and other global CAT members.
  • “Act like an owner” in your role – measure results and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide basic guidance on other CAT-supported areas – CRM, pursuit governance, etc.
  • Be a constant CAT presence in the areas of the business you support.

 

You bring to the role:

  • A diploma or degree in Business, Communications or Marketing, or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Minimum 10 years of proposal development experience as a Bid or Proposal Manager in a professional services environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and high emotional intelligence.
  • Sharp attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • A proven ability to build trusted relationships and influence without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and mentoring team members to build capability, confidence, and consistent performance.
  • Strong resource planning and prioritization skills, with the ability to balance team capacity against competing proposal deadlines and business priorities.
  • Ability to provide practical guidance, constructive feedback, and sound judgment in a fast-paced proposal environment.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Adobe Creative Cloud, and CRM tools (an asset). 
  • Working knowledge of the engineering, procurement, and construction management consulting industry (highly desirable).
