Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Primary HV Systems Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Brisbane.  Alternate locations such as Melbourne will be considered.

As the successful candidate, you will: 

• Conduct detail design of HV substations including switchyard layouts , earthing design , cable routing, major equipment sizing and specification, single line diagrams, design calculations etc
• Prepare technical specification for major HV equipment ,(knowledge of Transformer design is an asset)
• Provide technical support for procurement , construction and commissioning of HV substations
• Provide key discipline input to multi-discipline project teams
• Participate in formal engineering review processes
• Have knowledge of all substation primary design tools and software such as Microstation, AutoCAD, CDEGS etc
• Mentor Junior engineers
• Follow internal QA/QC procedures to ensure high quality engineering services

You will bring to the role: 

• At least 5 years of demonstrated engineering experience in HV primary design delivering detail design of HV substations
• Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements
• Preparation of project specifications, design reports and other technical documentation as required
• Have experience in performing electrical studies pertaining to primary design (e.g. short circuit force calculations, Conductor sizing, earthing design, substation lightning protection etc) 
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients on a technical and interpersonal level
• Ability to produce high quality design documentation
• A degree in electrical engineering with CPEng or equivalent is desired
