Within the Advisory Services Practice, Hatch is looking to engage an Engagement Manager to service the Australia-Asia (AUA) region. The role will be based in Brisbane, one of Hatch’s Globally Delivery Centre offices.


Becoming an integral part of the AUA leadership team for Advisory, Operational Readiness, this role requires an accomplished individual to lead and drive Operational Readiness across its spectrum of vertical markets in Australia. Reporting to the AUA Operational Readiness Lead, you will drive our services to find the best solutions for clients across the firm’s mining, metals, energy and infrastructure businesses.

Core Functional Tasks & Key Responsibilities of this role include:


  • Working with the Global Director of Operational Readiness and all other key stakeholders to further refine and implement the strategic direction for the regional Advisory group. This will include refining the strategic road map and existing market plans, expanding and improving market penetration, and enhancing competitive positioning.
  • Pro-actively driving and supporting the development of organizational capability and culture by which to deliver on the group's regional plans.
  • Developing and growing business stream / services / opportunities within the Metals, Infrastructure, Digital and Energy sectors (as well as new markets).
  • Remaining abreast of the industry, competitors and trends with a view to ensuring that the firm's regional services best align to market needs. Ensure that all alliance, acquisition and investment opportunities are considered and the most attractive pursued.
  • Offering tailor-made services across the various project phases, to ensure the client’s project business case is reflected in every deliverable or task we execute.
  • Providing support to operations beyond the project phase through performance enhancement activities such as reliability and productivity optimization.


Key required skills, experience and attributes:


  • A natural collaborator with a sensitivity to customer’s needs; and the ability to develop sustainable, open and honest relationships with Clients, your team and colleagues alike
  • Demonstrated experience working in operations and as a consultant in either the mining, energy or infrastructure sectors
  • Relevant recognized Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. process, mechanical or electrical) or equivalent combination of education and professional experience
  • Track record of successfully leading and managing programs / projects and teams and generating business opportunities in a Consultancy firm
  • Technical background with ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Demonstrated experience in developing toolboxes/skills sets to match business processes
