Our expertise in infrastructure includes aviation, highways and bridges, planning and advisory services, ports, rail and transit, tunnels, and water. Want to be part of the creation and construction of our cities? Then the infrastructure team is for you!

 

Due to continued growth in our Infrastructure business, we are looking for a Structural Lead to join our Brisbane office. Sitting within our Infrastructure team, this role offers the opportunity to lead a talented group of engineers and designers while remaining actively involved in the technical delivery of major transport infrastructure projects across Australia. As Structural Lead, you will provide leadership, technical direction, and project delivery support to a team working on complex bridge, highway, and transport infrastructure projects. You will play a key role in developing people, building client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Infrastructure practice.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of structural engineers and designers.
  • Provide technical leadership across bridge and transport infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project delivery, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved.
  • Support business development activities and contribute to proposal and tender preparation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Hatch's global network.
  • Review and approve technical designs, reports, and project deliverables.
  • Drive a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.

 

About You
You hold a degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering and have extensive experience delivering bridge, highway, or major transport infrastructure projects. You are a people-focused leader who enjoys developing teams, supporting career growth, and creating a positive, high-performing culture. Alongside your technical expertise, you bring strong project management capabilities, commercial awareness, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders. Chartered status or eligibility for chartership will be highly regarded.
