Our expertise in infrastructure includes aviation, highways and bridges, planning and advisory services, ports, rail and transit, tunnels, and water. Want to be part of the creation and construction of our cities? Then the infrastructure team is for you!

 

Join our Ports & Terminals Group and work on port planning projects for ports, major container terminals, bulk and break-bulk facilities, offshore wind support facilities, and cruise terminals.  You will support and coordinate the preparation of long-range port master plans, facility plans, terminal expansion/optimization efforts, capacity analyses, and operations plans for port authorities, terminal operators, and stevedores. You will work under transportation planning professionals and deliver as part of one or more project teams.

Compensation range depends on education, major, experience (overall), and interview skills.  For ideal candidates, the compensation range can be $25-$30 hourly. Please feel free to contact us for information on additional compensation and programs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Apply planning principles to provide efficient, effective, economical, and timely solutions to port planning challenges in multivariable and multidiscipline project environments.
  • Conduct road, rail, and marine operations and infrastructure planning efforts in accordance with transportation planning standards, quality objectives, and client needs.
  • Collect, review, and analyze a variety of planning and operational data to meet project objectives.
  • Prepare reports, technical memos, presentations, schedules, maps, figures, diagrams, and models.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be working toward graduating or recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, or Engineering.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Commitment to achieving planning excellence.
  • A desire to learn and continually develop.
  • Interest in the maritime industry, including global trade and supply chain trends; ocean carriers, Class I railroads, and trucking companies; and freight infrastructure and operations across a variety of modes, facilities, and commodities.
  • Passion for freight transportation planning.
  • Experience with ArcGIS is a plus.

  • Perform assignments related to your sector
  • Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
  • Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
  • Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
  • Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
