Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of piping design and equipment layouts on small to medium sized projects.
- Ability to lead and guide a small team of junior to intermediate piping designers
- Development of 3D piping models in an integrated CAD environment including pipe supports.
- Preparation of and updates to project deliverables including Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID) and pipe isometric drawings
- General Arrangement drawings of piping layouts
- Ability to independently layout piping and select mechanical equipment
- Checking of all piping related deliverables
- Reviewing and commenting on vendor packages as they relate to the piping discipline
- Participating in multi-discipline design reviews and coordinating with those disciplines
Education and Experience:
- Must be a graduate from a Piping Design Technology Program at an accredited College or equivalent education
- Minimum 10 years’ experience focused on piping design in an industrial setting
- Experience with the AutoCAD Plant 3D required. Experience with CadWorx, SmartPlant 3D and the Bentley suite of Open Plant tools is an asset.
- Experience with Piping Design in the midstream, pipeline and oil sands industries preferred
