Hatch St. John’s is looking for a Controls, Automation and Electrical (CA&E) Engineering graduate to start this summer. The successful candidate will be working with multi-discipline teams to develop design deliverables in accordance with client's and other established standards. Control and Automation engineering responsibilities and qualifications:

  • Graduate in Electrical Engineering
  • 0 - 2 years of relevant experience
  • Assist with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
  • Specify, select, configure and program the control system, Programmable Logic Controller/ Decentralized Control System (PLC/DCS) or any other system as required
  • Prepare technical documentation, e.g. design criteria, design calculations, process flow sheets, standard specifications, general layout drawings, standard detail drawings, construction and/or fabrication drawings, equipment lists, technical specifications, systems requirements specifications, as built documentation, data sheets etc.
  • Assist with preliminary studies and value engineering studies
  • Promote value engineering on projects
  • Prepare Piping and Instrumentation Designs (P&IDs)
  • Participate in process risk assessments and process safety related reviews as required
  • Ensure coordination with designers and engineers of other disciplines
  • Ensure that designs are operable, maintainable and safe according to the applicable local laws and client safety standards
  • Verify on-site condition and dimensions relating to existing facilities
  • Ensure that designs are delivered according to the time schedule.
