Graduate Process Engineer

Hatch is looking for a graduate process engineer to join our growing Oil & Gas consultancy team.

Oil and Gas: Upstream Consultancy

Working for Hatch means working on real projects executing real, value-adding work right from the start.  This will provide immediate and on-going exposure to clients as well as providing experience of a diverse range of project types.  Our process engineers work on studies, concept, and FEED level designs for clients throughout the world.

As a graduate process engineer you may be working with HYSYS or Pro II to develop process flow schemes and heat and material balances.  Following on from this you will be responsible for PFD and P&ID development as well as sizing equipment, generating equipment lists and specifications.  Alternatively, you may be executing flow assurance work using Pipesim for steady state modelling or OLGA for transient analysis.

As part of your job, it is likely that you will be given the opportunity to travel both within the UK and internationally, including to facilities on and offshore.

Our people are our business.  For that reason, we are committed to providing training and development to help our engineers become the best they can.  This is to the benefit of both Hatch and the individual.  Full training is provided for all the tools that we require you to use, and we have very experienced engineers to guide you further in their use.

All graduates are allocated a mentor, who is an experienced member of the engineering team.  Regular review meetings allow for on-going monitoring and future planning of training requirements.

Hatch has a Professional Development Program (PDP) which focuses on Support for Chartership, Skills development and Social activities. As a young engineer you will networked with other young engineers across the globe.   

 

Qualifications:

We require applicants to have a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (Merit or Distinction).

  • An ability to communicate effectively with fellow engineers as well as non-experts;
  • Good written reporting skills; and
  • The flexibility to meet rapidly changing business needs.

 

Remuneration:

Hatch offers attractive remuneration packages commensurate with qualifications and experience. We have flexible working arrangements and a path to other unique opportunities due to our employee ownership model. 

 

Location:

Dorking – office situated next to Dorking rail station (trains connecting with London Victoria, Waterloo, Redhill, Gatwick, Guildford, and Reading. Some international travel may be required.
