Senior/Principal Process Engineer – Dorking

The Role:

Hatch seeks to employ a Senior/Principal Process Engineer to support continued expansion of our oil and gas engineering consultancy business. The work is varied and stimulating, covering pre-project studies and early phase engineering design for greenfield developments, brownfield upgrades and operations support, onshore and offshore. Typical activities for this Process Engineer role include:

  • Process systems design covering all project stages including pre-feasibility, concept, FEED and detailed engineering.
  • Process simulations and technology evaluation.
  • Supervising and developing junior process engineers, to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and oversee the development of technical reports and process engineering deliverables.
  • Interfacing with clients through progress meetings, presentations and site visits.
  • Assisting with development of work plans, schedules and estimates for execution of studies / projects.
  • Assisting with proposals and business development activities.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

We require applicants to have a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering (grade 2:1 or higher).

Preference will be given to candidates who have achieved full membership of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (or other national equivalents).

We expect applicants to have 7 to 15 years of experience in Process Engineering, preferably with some exposure to a least two of the following:

  • Upstream oil and gas.
  • Syngas and gas conversion technologies.
  • LNG.
  • Renewable Fuels.
  • Nuclear.

Candidates must have permanent right to work in the UK.

 

Personal Qualities:

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate:

  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline team to develop solutions focused on client objectives.
  • Lead studies and supervise junior engineers, to ensure quality requirements are met.
  • Willing to travel to clients around the world.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for engineering and the desire to develop their abilities in technical study leadership.

 

Location:

Dorking – office situated next to Dorking rail station (trains connecting with London Victoria, Waterloo, Redhill, Gatwick, Guildford, and Reading). Some international travel may be required.
