Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Bulk Materials Handling Designer to join our Infrastructure group in Gurugram.
As the successful candidate, you will:
- The position requires a person with a tertiary qualification in a related technical field. The person will have experience in both the 2D and 3D CAD environment and will be familiar with typical bulk material handling equipment and plant layouts. Knowledge of different material types and their behaviour in different conditions is essential for plant and equipment design.
- Production of accurate engineering drawings for the external manufacture and procurement of equipment.
- Responsibility for safe design, quality, time and costs on assigned tasks – using established company systems and procedures
- Produce technical support documentation for use by other functions within Hatch as well as customers.
- Prepare conceptual layouts for use in plant development, plant and equipment upgrades and modifications as required by customers.
- Create 3D CAD models
- To prepare Engineering drawings
- Create/Change bills of material
- Create/Change technical specifications
- Participation in projects to modify and upgrade plant and equipment or to develop new plants.
- Participate in the evaluation of new BMH technology and equipment
- Undertake short term assignments in other Hatch offices
You bring to the role:
- A combination of educational and experience background is essential. N6 or T3 is required.
- Experience in the design of Bulk Material Handling equipment in the port terminal, mining and mineral processing fields is important.
- 2D and 3D drafting experience, Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite are required.
- Five years of drafting and design experience in the BMH field.
- The incumbent needs to be conversant with technologies used in the bulk material handling industry.
- Basic knowledge of materials and material flow, conveyors, bin, hopper and chute design, stockyard machines, rail tipplers, rail and road out loading stations and shiploading.
- Knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes.
Preferred
- Experience in plant layouts.
- Exposure to OEM equipment which includes rail car tipplers, crushers, screens, vibrating feeders, stackers, reclaimers and shiploaders.
- Experience in the 2D and 3D environment using the Microstation suite of products.
- Surface and underground mining equipment and product knowledge and experience would be an advantage
