Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Package Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Gurgaon/ Gurugram – Delhi NCR

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Have in-depth knowledge in the design of mechanical equipment or systems, used in mines, minerals handling and processing plants, infrastructure, oil & gas, Chemical projects.
  • Assist in interpreting the plant PFDs, P&IDs, and plant battery limits and constraints
  • Execute designs following the mechanical and layout design criteria developed
  • Perform system analysis, calculations, define design criteria, equipment configuration and sizing.
  • Coordinate technical aspects during the design phase, including Vendor pre-qualification and Battery limit interface design and coordination
  • Prepare the complete package scope, specification and data sheets including all relevant package sections
  • Obtain a good understanding of the commercial conditions provided by the procurement group and a good understanding of the packaging strategy in the project.
  • Prepare the vendor data schedule and requirement section of the specification, in collaboration with the other practices and the project planner.
  • Provide guidance to engineers and designers assigned to assist in the preparation of the procurement or contract package.
  • Prepare the tender analysis documentation once the bids are received. This includes a bid evaluation comparing the specified requirements with what the bidders will be supplying as well as a technical recommendation.
  • Post award, expedite the vendor to ensure the drawings/data are received according to the vendor data schedule.
  • Coordinate any fabrication, inspection visits and ensure the fabricator is adhering to the approved quality program.

 

You bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from accredited College or University
  • Experience between 3 to 8 years
  • Experience within a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment. Significant previous experience in the management of equipment packages and contracts.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry or regulatory standards, regulations, and codes pertinent to the design and systems related to the project
  • Understanding of other discipline interfaces and requirements
  • Good technical knowledge of the equipment or services forming part of the purchase package or contract.
  • Experience with working on a project in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Good understanding of the flow of information and data within a project environment.
  • High understanding of commercial management as it relates to the equipment package or contract.
  • A high degree of understanding of construction and commissioning methodologies for the discipline.
  • Familiar with operability and maintainability reviews, HAZOP studies.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
