Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a Commissioning Engineer HV to join our Commissioning team in Gresik, Indonesia.

This opportunity will see you working for Hatch on Freeport Indonesia’s copper smelter and precious metals refinery project in Gresik, East Java. Once fully operational, the new smelter complex could process 1.7 million tonnes of copper concentrate annually into 550,000 tonnes of copper cathode, which can be further processed into electrical wiring, pipes and car batteries, among other products. The metallurgical complex will include a Smelter, Electro refinery and Precious Metal Refinery. 

Hatch’s project scope covers detailed engineering, award and procurement of pre-purchased equipment, contract formation, construction, and commissioning of the Precious Metals Refinery. 

As the successful candidate, you will:

• As a member of the Commissioning Team, under the direction of the Electrical Lead, ensure Commissioning is conducted in compliance with the Safety Management Plan and all relevant Commissioning plans and procedures
• Testing and troubleshooting of HV electrical systems and components
• Provide Equipment Start-up and Ramp-up assistance
• Interface with Construction Contractor’s Electrical Engineers to resolve issues at site
• Ability to interpret Power Systems Protection study reports
• Drive the delivery of the Completions Turnover process, from the Construction team to the Commissioning team, and from the Commissioning team to the Operations team through the CCMS.

You will bring to the role.
 

• Experience in HV testing and commissioning practices
• Experience in Commissioning and Start-up of multiple facilities
• Current holder of applicable trade qualifications per Indonesian standards, regulations, and requirements
• High Voltage Qualifications for Indonesia
• Experienced in documentation of electrical testing activities such as meg- ohm, hi-pot, drawing revisions, specifications, and engineering/process changes
• Experience in the use of testing equipment, motor connections, testing and installation of wiring and raceway systems, and the ability to quickly troubleshoot electrical and instrument components
• Will be familiar with High Voltage, Medium Voltage and Low Voltage systems.
