Hatch is currently accepting applications for a Piping Drafter to join our team in Katowice, Poland. If you have strong communication and interpersonal skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for innovation, we’d love to hear from you! Working closely with senior engineers and designers, your primary role will be to contribute as a technical resource on challenging projects. This position offers the opportunity to apply and grow your expertise in structural design, assessment of heavy industrial facilities, project and engineering management, and client engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Apply design principles for 3D models and 2D mechanical equipment, piping layouts, or general arrangement drawings of industrial buildings and processes, with guidance.
- Collaborate with senior team members and other Hatch groups to share project outcomes.
- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical and piping systems.
- Participate in P&ID design and review.
- Conduct clash detection of models across disciplines.
- Attend office and site safety training and inductions as needed.
- Be open to travel and working in other Hatch offices or project sites (including remote locations) as required.
Skills and Experience:
- Technology Diploma or Process Piping Drafting Certificate.
- Minimum of 1 year of piping design experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical equipment, design tools, piping system design, discipline workflows, and industrial components/processes.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design, drafting, and modeling.
- Working knowledge of piping components and materials.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Understanding of industry or regulatory standards and codes relevant to piping design.
- Experience with isometric production control and monitoring.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation, OpenPlant P&ID/Modeler/Isometrics Manager.
- Solid understanding of design principles related to mechanical and/or piping systems.
- Ability to learn quickly and embrace new challenges.
- Demonstrates critical and creative thinking and problem-solving skills, offering solutions to complex client challenges.
