Int. Control and Automation Engineer – Poland (Katowice)
Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Control and Automation Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Katowice.

As the successful candidate you play an important role in the successful completion of assigned projects. You will work closely with other engineers and technologists to deliver timely and technically sound results.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a project lead on small to medium size projects;
- Interface with other departments, project managers, engineers, designers, clients and vendors during all phases of projects to ensure a good working interface;
- Provide input to project cost estimates, schedule and progress reports;
- Create data sheets, instrument index, and size instruments in collaboration with other disciplines;
- Perform sizing calculations for flow meters and valves;
- Develop instrument MR packages, perform bid evaluation, and select instrument and control system equipment;
- Design instrument installation details;
- Authenticate drawings and documents as required;
- Provide input to the 3D model development and participate in model reviews;
- Develop control philosophies and control narratives;
- Provide input into the Design Basis Memoranda (DBM) and to the control system architecture drawings;
- Participate in HAZOP and manage HAZOP resolution items;
- Generate shut down keys and cause and effects;
- Review and mark-up vendor documentation;
- Provide technical support to clients;
- Provide construction support; and
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills and Experience
- 5+ years of progressive experience in control and automation;
- Previous experience in leading small to medium size projects;
- Strong verbal communication and technical writing ability;
- Proficient with all Microsoft office software and various engineering software programs;
- Degree in Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Controls and Automation Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent, with a strong interest in industrial process control, automation, and computer systems;
- Certification related to Functional Safety, ATEX or any other industry recognized certification is desirable;
- Experience with designing, developing, and commissioning of PLC and/or DCS based system. At least one system to a high proficiency level. (Step 7, TIA Portal, TwinCAT, PCS7, DeltaV, Foxboro, Freelance);
- SEP E1 qualification or equivalent;
- Good level of English in speaking and writing;
- Experience designing network architectures and IT systems is preferable but not mandatory and;
- Experience integrating various control and IT systems is preferable but not mandatory.
