Looking to take the next step in your career? Hatch is currently seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Control and Automation Engineer to join our Project Delivery Group (PDG) in Katowice.

As a successful candidate, you will;
- Work with Control and Automation team on projects and ensure delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, execution strategy, cost and schedule
- Prepare and review of all engineering documentation within discipline including, but not limited to, the following documents, lists, calculations and detail drawings; Instrumentation and Controls Design Criteria, Control Philosophy and conceptual design of industrial control systems, functional specifications and detailed control narratives and functional descriptions, instrument index, I/O lists, instrumentation calculations, data sheets, specifications, selection and sizing, P&ID’s, system architecture drawings, instrument location drawings, installation detail drawings, wiring and interconnection diagrams, ISA loop drawings, motor control schematics.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all engineering activities
- Preparation of Basic and Detail Engineering, procurement, installation of automation components and systems
- Create technical specifications for requests for automation components and systems
- Create technical functional descriptions, test specifications and instructions as well as interface descriptions
- Support with HAZOPs, SIL calculations and validations
- Collaborate with project management/engineering staff to achieve project objectives
- Conduct work in accordance with company safety and quality policies and procedures
- Participate in regular project meetings and assessment of ongoing project needs
- Check and verify construction drawings, vendor drawings, material requisitions and approval of bid tabulations and field checkout
- Perform field surveys, when necessary
- Provide construction support, commissioning and start-up assistance as required
You will bring to the role;
- BSc/BEng in Electronic / Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent, with a strong interest in industrial process control, automation and computer systems
- Extensive design (10 + years) and Project engineering experience in mining, metals, minerals processing or heavy industry environment
- Experience with fieldbus technologies, networking and hardware
- Knowledge of automation components and systems with focus on Siemens tools
- Knowledge of network technology, server, virtualisation, redundancy concepts
- Knowledge in DCS/PLC technology, highly available and failsafe systems
- Experience in commissioning industrial automation projects
- Demonstrated strong troubleshooting, analytical, technical problem-solving skills
- High attention to details, motivation and commitment to quality and customer service
- Ability to operate effectively and work under pressure in a fast-pace environment
- Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts and technologies
- Understanding of all aspects of software development and implementation
- Flexiiblity to meet project requirements
- Knowledge of Windows, Basic Networking and Databases
- Fluent in Polish and English
