Hatch is seeking an experienced Senior Interface and Integration Manager - Systems Engineer to join our global Systems Integration and Assurance practice in Poland.

Reporting to the Regional Lead, Systems Integration & Assurance, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering interface management and systems integration services for major international rail and metro programmes, from tender stage throughout to the [project delivery and inoperatiojn iof large, fully automated European metro programme.

The role will involve coordinating technical interfaces across railway systems, rolling stock, stations, tunnels, depots, civil infrastructure, operations and maintenance. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary international team involving designers, contractors, systems suppliers, operators and other programme delivery partners.

We are looking for an experienced rail or infrastructure professional who understands how different systems, disciplines and organisations must work together to deliver an integrated and operable railway. The ideal candidate will combine technical understanding with strong coordination, communication and stakeholder management skills.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Lead interface management activities on major rail and metro programmes.
  • Establish and maintain interface management processes, plans and working arrangements.
  • Identify and coordinate internal and external interfaces across systems, infrastructure, rolling stock, operations and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain Interface Registers, Interface Matrices and Interface Control Documents.
  • Facilitate interface workshops and multidisciplinary technical coordination meetings.
  • Work with designers, contractors, suppliers and operators to define interface boundaries, responsibilities, inputs and deliverables.
  • Track interface issues, actions, decisions, assumptions and dependencies through to resolution.
  • Support the integration of signalling, rolling stock, traction power, communications, SCADA, stations, tunnels, depots and associated systems.
  • Coordinate interfaces between railway systems and civil, structural, architectural and MEP disciplines.
  • Support the identification and management of interface risks that could affect design, construction, testing, commissioning or operations.
  • Review design information to identify gaps, inconsistencies and potential interface conflicts.
  • Support systems integration reviews, technical assurance activities and project reporting.
  • Work closely with requirements, systems engineering, configuration management, safety and RAM specialists.
  • Produce clear interface reports, presentations and technical documentation for project teams and clients.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Contribute to the continued development of Hatch’s Systems Integration and Assurance capability in Poland and across Europe.

You will bring to the role:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Typically, at least 8 to 10 years of experience in rail, transportation or complex multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in interface management, systems integration, design coordination or multidisciplinary technical delivery.
  • A good understanding of railway or metro systems and their interfaces with infrastructure, facilities and operations.
  • Experience coordinating across multiple design disciplines, contractors, suppliers or project packages.
  • Experience developing or managing interface registers, interface matrices, Interface Control Documents or similar technical coordination records.
  • The ability to understand and coordinate functional, physical, operational, data and organisational interfaces.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with requirements management, Verification and Validation, configuration management, safety assurance or RAM would be advantageous.
  • Experience in signalling, rolling stock, communications, traction power, stations, tunnels, depots, MEP or other relevant rail disciplines would be advantageous.
  • Experience with automated metro, CBTC or Grade of Automation 4 systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting major tenders, design-and-build, PPP, DBFM or DBFOM programmes would be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with tools such as SharePoint, Excel, IBM DOORS, DOORS Next, ProjectWise or equivalent project information platforms.
  • Knowledge of European rail standards and CENELEC processes would be advantageous.
  • Strong coordination, organisation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Polish language capability would be advantageous.
  • The ability to work effectively within international and geographically distributed teams.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel within Poland and across Europe when required.

This role directly supports the largest technical workstream in the accepted resource plan, covering both internal and external interface management.
