Hatch is seeking an experienced Senior Requirements Manager - Systems Engineer to join our global Systems Integration and Assurance practice in Poland.

Reporting to the Regional Lead, Systems Integration & Assurance, the successful candidate will lead requirements management activities for major international rail and metro programmes, initially supporting the tender phase of a large European automated metro programme.

The role will involve managing requirements across railway systems, rolling stock, stations, tunnels, depots, civil infrastructure, operations and maintenance. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary international team involving designers, contractors, suppliers, operators and other programme delivery partners.

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineering or requirements management professional who can establish practical processes, manage large requirements datasets and work with multidisciplinary teams to demonstrate that contractual and technical requirements are understood, allocated and addressed.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Lead requirements management activities for major rail and metro programmes.
  • Develop and implement requirements management plans, processes, workflows and templates.
  • Capture, analyse, structure and manage contractual, technical, operational and assurance requirements.
  • Support the development of System Breakdown Structures and the allocation of requirements to systems, subsystems, disciplines and responsible parties.
  • Develop and maintain Requirements Traceability Matrices and requirements repositories.
  • Coordinate requirements inputs from designers, contractors, systems suppliers and operators.
  • Manage requirements traceability from contractual obligations through to design responses and planned verification evidence.
  • Coordinate the preparation and maintenance of requirements compliance reports.
  • Work with design teams to define compliance responses and identify the evidence required to demonstrate compliance.
  • Support Verification and Validation planning, including the development of verification methods, acceptance criteria and Verification and Validation matrices.
  • Monitor requirements maturity, ownership, status, compliance and outstanding actions.
  • Manage requirements changes and assess their impact on systems, interfaces, design disciplines and project deliverables.
  • Identify requirements gaps, duplication, inconsistencies and areas requiring clarification.
  • Coordinate with Systems Engineering, Interface Management, Systems Assurance, Safety and RAM teams to ensure requirements remain aligned across the programme.
  • Prepare requirements reports, dashboards, presentations and progress updates for project teams and clients.
  • Support technical reviews, requirements workshops and multidisciplinary coordination meetings.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.
  • Contribute to the continued development of Hatch’s Systems Integration and Assurance capability in Poland and across Europe.

You will bring to the role:

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Systems Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
  • Typically, at least 7 to 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering, requirements management or complex multidisciplinary project delivery.
  • Experience managing requirements on rail, transportation or major infrastructure programmes.
  • A good understanding of requirements capture, analysis, decomposition, allocation, traceability, compliance and change management.
  • Experience developing and maintaining Requirements Traceability Matrices, compliance matrices or equivalent requirements repositories.
  • Experience coordinating requirements across multidisciplinary design teams, contractors, suppliers or project packages.
  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering lifecycle processes, including ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 or equivalent frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Verification and Validation planning and the development of compliance evidence.
  • Experience using requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next or equivalent platforms would be advantageous.
  • Strong capability using Excel for requirements management, data analysis, reporting and dashboards.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or other Common Data Environment platforms would be advantageous.
  • Experience with rail systems, rolling stock, stations, tunnels, depots, civil infrastructure or operations would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of European rail standards and CENELEC processes would be advantageous.
  • Experience with automated metro, CBTC or Grade of Automation 4 systems would be advantageous.
  • Experience supporting major tenders, design-and-build, PPP, DBFM or DBFOM programmes would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to manage and interpret large, complex requirements datasets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Polish language capability would be advantageous.
  • The ability to communicate technical requirements clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently and effectively within international and geographically distributed teams.
  • Willingness to undertake occasional travel within Poland and across Europe when required.
