Hatch, a Globally respected leader in the railway consulting, is currently seeking candidates for the following position to join our Global Rail Systems team in the Katowice, Poland location:
Senior Rail Systems Signal and Train Control Engineer
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, and 10 or more years of relevant experience including design, installation, signal system testing, and operation and maintenance of mainline and/or commuter signal systems. Design experience includes signal and train control systems, block design, ETCS, ATC, PTC, CBTC, electronic and relay-based interlockings, as well as level crossing warning systems. Candidates must be skilled in the preparation of contract drawings, specifications, cost estimating, field verification, inspection and testing (Mainline & Commuter). Project Management experience and Professional Engineering Registration (or equivalent) or IRSE licensing are considered a plus.
We are seeking a results-driven engineering professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Candidates must be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality, as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working background with Electronic interlockings (Hardware and Software), Axle Counters, AC & DC Track Circuits, Balises and Crossing Predictors preferred. Experience with ERTMS/ETCS, PTC and/or CBTC is an advantage.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare designs for level crossing warning systems in accordance with project regional regulations.
- Prepare designs for signal system logic including both electronic and relay-based systems.
- Lead the development of signal system block designs based on train performance criteria, product specifications, and train schedule headway and run time analysis.
- Prepare signal system-related drawings (Signalling Scheme Plans, Interlocking Design Data, Trackside Design, Typical and Detailed Circuits, etc.)
- Develop material and construction specifications and quantity estimates.
- Perform field inspections, report drafting and signal testing assistance.
- Work with clients and incorporate their signal requirements into Contract Documents.
Fluency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.
This position is based in Poland and will support global signalling projects from our Katowice, Poland office.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
