The Hatch Energy group is seeking a European HVDC Regional Manager with interest in Power Systems to work in eGRID. Reporting to the HVDC Manager you will support projects globally working from our Dorking office.

 

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Support our existing clients in the UK, Europe and globally
  • Assist in developing Hatch’s HVDC market in the UK and Europe
  • Knowledge of electrical studies including power flow, short circuit, protection coordination, transient and dynamic, and others using electrical design software such as RTDS, PSCAD, PSSE, Powerfactory, etc.
  • Assist in the development of Technical Specifications for our projects.
  • Be knowledgeable of the HVDC market in the United Kingdom and Europe
  • Prepare presentations and reports
  • Write technical papers and present at conferences to demonstrate expertise in the field and engage clients
  • Support the Business Unit in business development including fostering relationships with existing clients, preparing proposals for new work, identifying market areas, and pitching clients
  • Work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment
  • Conduct site visits, factory visits, field assessments and client engagement meetings

 

You bring to the role:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with an Electrical Engineering or related degree with interest in powersystems
  • Good knowledge of the various European RTOs
  • Technical experience with HVDC and FACTS, generators, transmission lines, or related.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites including remote sites
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point
