Hatch is seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist Co-op Student with an interest in civil engineering design and drafting for an internship for the Fall term, starting September 2025. Reporting to the Utility Engineering Lead you will support offices globally working from our Markham office.

As the successful candidate, you will:
- Support project managers, project engineers and designers in the preparation of detailed design for civil engineering infrastructure/utilities projects
- Perform assignments requiring the application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks for municipal infrastructure projects
- Assist in CAD design of municipal infrastructure including sewer, watermains, and other related work
- Coordination with other technicians in designing drainage and utilities provision for development, urban regeneration, and transportation projects
- Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications for consistency
- Compilation of design drawings
- Preparing design submissions and other technical documents
- Assistance to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
You bring to the role:
- Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering Technology co-op program at an accredited College
- Strong CAD skills, and experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D
- Experience in MicroStation/OpenRoads is an asset
- Experience in Utility/Drainage and Pipeline design, such as developing infrastructure plans and profiles is an asset
- Comfortable working in both 2D and 3D environments
- Positive team attitude and approach, results oriented and ability to work independently
