At Hatch Medellín, we’re looking for a highly motivated Intermediate Architect to join our PDG team. 

 

Reporting to the Senior Architect or Global Architecture Director, the Intermediate Architect works within the Hatch Architecture team to develop architectural deliverables and coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts. This role involves collaboration with designers, engineers, and project managers, operating with moderate supervision and accountability for quality outputs.

 

As the successful candidate, you will: 

 

  • Build client relationships and networks to generate new business.
  • Develop architectural designs and deliverables across all design phases.
  • Produce construction drawing sets, reports, specifications, and related documents.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary design with project managers and stakeholders.
  • Support senior architects and designers with design, research, administration, and project tasks.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff to ensure quality and skill development.

 

 

You bring to the role:

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant architectural work experience.

 

Regulatory Knowledge:

  • Solid understanding of international building codes, by-laws, design guidelines, and regulations.

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Working knowledge of architectural graphic and technical standards, material performance certifications, and testing organizations (e.g., LEED, ULC, ANSI, ASTM, CAN/CSI, NFPA).
  • Familiarity with project management principles and their application in architectural workflows.

 

Professional Practice:

  • Experience working under a licensed architect to ensure quality and accuracy of deliverables.
  • Coordinated design efforts across multiple disciplines (structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, utilities).

 

Documentation Skills:

  • Developed comprehensive construction drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules).
  • Assisted in preparing construction documents, including code compliance reviews and technical specifications.
  • Supported preparation and review of technical documentation (design briefs, reports, material take-offs, vendor documents, bids, project sheets).
  • Contributed to construction administration tasks (RFIs, shop drawings, samples, site instructions, change orders, cost estimates, reports).

 

Software Proficiency:

  • 2D drafting tools: AutoCAD, MicroStation.
  • 3D modeling and visualization: SketchUp, 3ds Max, FormIt, V-Ray, Lumion.
  • BIM platforms: Revit, Design, ArchiCAD.
  • Administrative tools: MS Office, MS Teams, Webex.

 

Software Desirable

  • 2D drafting tool MicroStation.
  • BIM platforms: OpenBuildings Designer.
  • Administrative tools: ProjectWise.
