At Hatch Medellín, we’re looking for a highly motivated Senior Architect to join our PDG team

 

Reporting to the Global Architecture Director, the Senior Architect within the Hatch Architecture team to develop architectural deliverables and coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts.  This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to lead and review architectural deliverables across all project phases - conceptual design, detailed design, construction documentation, and administration - operating with minimal supervision and accountability for quality outputs.

 

As the successful candidate, you will:

 

  • Build client relationships and networks to generate new business.
  • Develop technical and disciplinary strategies, standardizing documents and procedures to yield company growth.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and clients, including governmental agencies, professional organizations, product suppliers, manufacturers, and other industry representatives.
  • Develop client relationships, respond to RFPs, and secure new projects.
  • Lead architectural teams and guide decisions across all disciplines.
  • Plan and oversee all aspects of project delivery.
  • Oversee and mentor senior, intermediate, and junior staff, emphasizing professional development. 

 

 

You bring to the role:

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 15+ years of relevant architectural work experience.

 

Regulatory Knowledge:

  • Advanced understanding of international building codes, by-laws, design guidelines, and regulations.

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive working knowledge of architectural graphic standards, CCDC, CHOP, technical standards, material and performance certifications, standards, and testing organizations (e.g., LEED, ULC, ANSI, ASTM, CAN/CSI, NFPA)
  • Integrated multidisciplinary design across all project phases, coordinating structural, civil, landscape, sustainability, MEP, and other specialized disciplines.

 

Professional Practice:

  • Assisted clients in obtaining permits required for occupancy.
  • Presented architectural designs to consultants and disciplines for stakeholder approval, authority having jurisdictions, design review panels, etc.

 

Documentation Skills:

  • Directed preparation and review of technical documents (design briefs, reports, material take-offs, vendor documents, bids, and project sheets).
  • Directed production of comprehensive construction drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules).
  • Performed and directed construction administration tasks providing input to documents (RFIs, shop drawings, samples, site instructions, change orders, cost estimates, and site visit reports).
  • Managed production of 3D renderings, animations, and visual presentations.
  • Organized production of construction documents, including code compliance reviews and technical specifications; stamped and signed documents as required.
  • Prepared project plans, schedules, budgets, scopes, and deliverable lists to support effective planning and execution.

 

Software Proficiency:

  • 2D drafting tools: AutoCAD.
  • BIM platforms: Revit, ArchiCAD.
  • Administrative tools: MS Office, MS Teams, Webex.

 

Software Desirable

  • 2D drafting tool MicroStation.
  • BIM platforms: OpenBuildings Designer.
  • Administrative tools: ProjectWise.
