At Hatch Medellín, we’re looking for a highly motivated Senior Architectural Designer  to join our PDG team.

 

Reporting to the Senior/Intermediate Architect or Global Architecture Director, the Senior Architectural Designer works within the Hatch Architecture team to develop architectural deliverables and coordinate multidisciplinary design efforts.  This role involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients to lead and review architectural deliverables across all project phases - conceptual design, detailed design, construction documentation, and administration - operating with minimal supervision and accountability for quality outputs. 

 

As the successful candidate, you will:

 

  • Produce and coordinate deliverables to illustrate conceptual, schematic and detailed design. 
  • Produce architectural specifications and construction drawing sets with the required coordination amongst disciplines and specialists involved in the project. 
  • Provide support during construction administration. 
  • Provide guidance to intermediate and junior staff on architectural deliverables and provide mentorship for skill development.
  • Provide support during CAD environment setup and resolve design software issues to ensure functionality for architectural workflows. 

 

You bring to the role:

 

Experience: 

  • Minimum 9 + years of relevant architectural work experience. 

 

Regulatory Knowledge:

  • Extensive knowledge of international building codes, by-laws, design guidelines, and regulations.

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Excellent understanding of multi-disciplinary design documentation, including structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and other systems impacting building and site design.
  • Researched materials/products and detailed integration of components into building systems.

 

Professional Practice:

  • Performed construction administration tasks providing input to documents such as RFIs, shop drawings, samples, site instructions, change orders, bill of materials, cost estimates, site visit reports, etc. 
  • Thrive in fast-paced team environments, managing multiple projects across various software platforms while quickly learning new standards, tools, and skills.

 

Documentation Skills:

  • Developed CAD construction details for standard and complex conditions, ensuring code compliance and coordinating with other disciplines.
  • Produced comprehensive construction drawings (plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules).
  • Coordinated drawings and contributed to architectural and performance specifications, ensuring alignment with other discipline specifications.

 

Software Proficiency:

  • 2d drafting tools: AutoCAD.
  • 3d modelling and visualization: SketchUp, 3ds Max, Formit, V-ray, Lumion
  • BIM platforms: Revit, ArchiCAD.
  • Administrative tools: MS Office, MS Teams, Webex.

 

Software Desirable

  • 2D drafting tool MicroStation.
  • BIM platforms: OpenBuildings Designer.
  • Administrative tools: ProjectWise.
