The Geotechnical Lead will provide technical leadership to project teams in Melbourne, liaise with local clients to demonstrate design proficiency and assist in coordination of geotechnical engineering delivery from throughout the Australasian region.

About the Role
The purpose of the Lead Geotechnical Engineer is to be part of an engineering team providing engineering services to large and small projects The Lead Geotechnical Engineer provides support to the Lead Civil Engineer and is responsible for supervising a team of Geotechnical Engineers and Designers. As the Lead Geotechnical Engineer, you will participate in a wide range of projects covering Geotechnical site investigations, analysis and design for both front end planning and the detailed engineering phase for multi-discipline projects. This may also include construction supervision during the implementation stage of the project as required.
The collaboration with the Lead Civil Engineer to support with delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule is a pivotal function of this role. 
Key accountabilities for this role will include assigning work tasks (via signed-off EWPs) to individuals and continuously monitor progress and quality, developing the geotechnical manpower schedule to be part of the engineering and project schedule in conjunction with the other disciplines, develop the geotechnical work plan for insertion into the project specific execution plan and assist in the compilation and delivery of monthly engineering status reports. 
In addition, the Lead Geotechnical Engineer will develop and maintain the project’s scope of work documentation (Facilities Description Report) and revise as required during the design evolution, participate and contribute to design reviews, represent the discipline in the project’s engineering coordination meetings and Review and evaluate technical work prepared by junior engineers, intermediate engineers, designers, technicians and technologists 


About You 
•    To be considered for this role, you require the following essential skills, qualifications, and experience:
•    A recognized degree in civil engineering from an accredited university
•    Professional engineer registered with Engineering Council 
•    10+ years’ experience in relevant Geotechnical design
•    Ability to manage and delegate to individuals to attain quality, cost, and schedule objectives
•    Experience with working on projects in a multi-disciplinary environment
•    Sound understanding of design engineering codes and technical standards
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills
•    Good planning and organizational skills
•    Ability to function with minimal supervision
•    Good safety awareness
