We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Structures Engineer to lead the delivery of complex structural infrastructure projects across road and rail networks. This role focuses on the design and delivery of bridges, culverts, retaining walls, and associated structures, supporting major transport infrastructure projects across Australia. You will play a key leadership role within a growing engineering team, delivering end-to-end project outcomes from feasibility through to construction support. This is a technically challenging and varied role offering strong career progression, exposure to major infrastructure projects, and the opportunity to mentor and guide junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of bridges, culverts, and retaining walls across road and rail infrastructure projects
- Provide technical leadership across structural design, analysis, and documentation
- Manage multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects in line with scope, schedule, and budget
- Prepare and review detailed designs, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates
- Ensure compliance with Australian Standards (AS), Austroads guidelines, and authority requirements e.g - DTP, TMR, and/or MTM
- Support project delivery including planning, risk management, and construction support activities
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships across major infrastructure programs
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposals and identifying new opportunities
About You
You are a degree-qualified Civil Engineer with strong expertise in structural engineering, with 10+ years’ experience delivering transport infrastructure projects involving bridges, culverts, and retaining wall systems. You have a proven track record working to Australian Standards and major road and rail authority requirements (including DTP, TMR, and MTM), and bring solid experience in structural analysis, design, and project delivery. You are an effective communicator who can engage with clients and stakeholders while providing leadership to project teams. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate strong problem-solving capability, and are committed to delivering high-quality engineering outcomes. You hold (or are eligible for) RPEQ registration, with additional registrations such as CPEng or National Engineering Register (NER) highly regarded.
