Hatch Advisory is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced professional to join the team as an Engagement Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in metals, energy, or infrastructure with management consulting, corporate development, transaction advisory, or financial experience. Successful candidate’s typical assignments will include technical and environmental due diligence, mergers and acquisition assistance, lender's engineer, corporate strategy, market studies, and other advisory services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and nurture long-term client relationships in the mining and metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Typical clients include financial institutions, investment funds and asset owners.
  • Lead and manage advisory projects and project teams, leveraging expert resources from the rest of the company.
  • Ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of projects, while providing quality assurance to ensure work is delivered to the highest possible standard.
  • Develop and coach more junior colleagues from the Advisory practice.


Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of eight years of relevant experience in an appropriate sector or professional service.
  • The ability to lead and engage a team of diverse technical professionals on projects.
  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and the ability to distill value during projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Financial modelling expertise.
  • Ability to translate technical recommendations into business case implications.
  • Technically oriented educational background and/or work experience is desired.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage on multiple engagements concurrently.
  • Ability to work with independently
  • Energized by challenging projects with unfamiliar structure
  • MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree is advantageous.
  • Availability to travel occasionally for site visits and business development.
  • International experience and ability to speak multiple languages are assets.
