As part of the Operational Readiness Team at Hatch, you will work directly with global clients on a variety of strategic industrial projects in the mining, metals, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Our global teams help organizations get their operations ready to assume full responsibility for new facilities resulting from capital projects to achieve a safe and efficient ramp up and meet the investment business case.


The team is looking for candidates who are interested in the following:

  • Offering tailor-made operational services and transition to operation programs for clients to meet their economic objectives, using connected and high-performance tools.
  • Working closely with client operation teams on all operational readiness projects.
  • Holding workshops with the clients’ teams to develop a business philosophy and operation strategy.
  • Developing a strategic and structured realistic program, in conjunction with all departments and organization levels.
  • Managing the execution of the program in conjunction with the client teams and in accordance with best industry practices.
  • Assisting with the project risk evaluations and management processes.
  • Planning start up activities for new client site facilities.
  • Supporting operations beyond the project phase through performance improvement activities, such as reliability and productivity optimization.
  • Providing digital technologies and solutions in close collaboration with Hatch’s Digital Group to improve our clients’ business and future needs.
  • Participating in business development activities with Hatch Operational Readiness leaders


Required skills:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience;
  • 8–12 years of industrial experience (in operations or as a consultant)
  • Experience with project and team management
  • Good technical knowledge in your field of expertise.
  • Excellent analytical and summarization skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; (French is an asset but not a requirement)
  • Strong ability to influence and negotiate with others to obtain the best results for the benefit of our clients’ projects and organizations.
  • Sensitivity to client needs and the ability to establish sustainable, open, and honest relationships.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across the country and internationally for work.


Assets that will further strengthen your application include:

  • Cross-functional experience and exposure to a variety of roles and responsibilities within operations (site management, production, maintenance, health, safety, environment and community, warehouse and inventory management, etc.)
  • Consulting experience in the mining and metals, energy, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience in managing or executing large-scale operational projects, and proven business development skills.
