As part our our growth plan, Hatch's Iron & Steel group is looking for a Process Engineer, Steelmaking Specialist. This would be permanent opportunity based in our Mississauga office. With a global presense our team is based various locations throughout North America. This is a great opportunity for a person that is consultive, collaborative with great technical and client engagement skills.

As part of the Iron & Steel team we would expect to leverage your expertise in Steelmaking to help Hatch continue to deliver world-class solutions to our global client base in the Iron and Steelmaking sector.  We foresee the role to be multi-faceted with a combination of:

•             Steelmaking and casting technical subject matter expertise as a process engineer and the development of technical skills of our younger staff in this area

•             Project Management of studies and other projects in your technical area

•             Leading and assisting in client facing business development in Steelmaking opportunities

•             Leading and developing proposals in Steelmaking opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Chemical or Metallurgical Engineering degree
  • P. Eng designation in Ontario (preferred)
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience
  • High degree of knowledge in one or more of the following areas
    • Blast furnace
    • Steel Basic Oxegyn Furnace (BOF)
    • Electric Arc Furnace (EAF)
    • Casting
    • Steel Plant logistics
  • Experience with technically challenging projects
  • Past experience in leading teams on front end studies through detailed design assignments while not essential will be viewed favorably.

Business Development Requirements

  • Ability to identify, develop and land projects.
  • Ability to develop and nurture relationships with clients
