Non-Destructive Testing Engineer (NDT Engineer) 

 

Hatch is seeking a Non-Destructive Testing Engineer (NDT Engineer) for the Mississauga office.  The incumbent will be part of a team responsible for Non-Destructive Testing duties for Hatch clients.  The candidate will be responsible for the following:

•    Conduct concrete and coarse-grain material inspection
•    Conduct NDT system set-ups and calibration in the field
•    Collect NDT data in the field
•    Analysis NDT data using various techniques and software
•    Report writing
•    Assist in NDT service marketing 
•    Involved in new equipment and technique developments
•    Extensive local & international travel and on-site fieldwork is required

 

Technical Background:

•    Extensive knowledge in coarse grain/composite material and structure (concrete, refractory, masonry)
•    Knowledge of ultrasonic, acoustics emission, stress wave and electromagnetic wave propagation techniques and instrumentations
•    Extensive signal processing capability
•    Familiarity of various NDT techniques and instrumentation is an asset

 

THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate should possess a University technical Degree in either Physics, Geophysics, Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering. The Candidate must have at least 3 years relevant NDT work experience and should be:

•    Capable of preparing proposals, on-site inspections, data analysis, signal processing, and report writing
•    Able to interact well with other people and work in a team environment
