Position Summary
The Process Modelling Engineer will support the development and application of digital water solutions for municipal and industrial water and wastewater clients. Working with senior engineers, process specialists, and software experts, the successful candidate will assist with process modelling, simulation, digital twin development, data analysis, optimization studies, and technical consulting using related technologies. Hatch Water Digital Solutions specializes in water and wastewater treatment modelling, simulation, optimization, and digital twin solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development of water and wastewater treatment process models
- Assist with calibration and validation of treatment plant models
- Perform engineering calculations and technical analyses for treatment systems.
- Support digital twin implementation projects for municipal and industrial clients.
- Analyze plant performance data and identify optimization opportunities.
- Assist with process troubleshooting and operational improvement studies.
- Support development of predictive analytics and decision-support tools.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Collaborate with process engineers, software developers, data scientists, and project managers.
- Participate in client meetings and technical workshops.
- Contribute to research and development initiatives related to digital water technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related discipline. Higher degrees with specialization in related fields will be preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in water and wastewater treatment processes modelling, advanced data analytics
- Strong communication and technical writing skills.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with water wastewater process modelling software
- Experience or specialization in development and application of predictive analytics and decision-support tools using machine learning tools.
- Programming experience in Python, R, SQL, C#
- Experience working with real-time operational datasets.
- Understanding of digital twins, machine learning, or advanced analytics.
Technical Skills
- Water and wastewater treatment process fundamentals.
- Process modelling and simulation.
- Data analysis and visualization.
- Technical report preparation.
Base salary range: $72,000 - $105,000
At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness.
Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
