The Hatch Nuclear Business Unit functions follow rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) requirements set by the Nuclear industry. It is important for Hatch to meet these requirements while maintaining our ability to operate efficiently and continuously. This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for a Junior QA Specialist to join the Nuclear team

 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Evaluate/assess client requirements and recommend QA strategies for project implementation of nuclear work in consultation with the Director, Nuclear QA.
  • Under the guidance and direction of Director, Nuclear QA, develop and maintain program/project documentation, as necessary for implementation in compliance with applicable Codes and Standards including CSA N286-12, CSAN299.1 etc  
  • Provide QA support to projects as required including development of Project Quality Plan, on-boarding,  and preparing monthly QA reports as required etc.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of Hatch’s Nuclear Quality Management System (NQMS) documentation; preparing revisions to procedures/forms when updates are required 
  • Assist in identifying, initiating, and reporting non-conformances, analyze causes and propose preventative and corrective measures 
  • Assist with the preparation of apparent cause analysis in accordance with Hatch procedures 
  • Assist in conducting internal audits, supplier audits, self-assessments, and evaluations to ensure compliance with Hatch quality practices

Requirements: 

  • Minimum College Diploma/Certificate in Quality management or business administration 
  • 1-2 years' experience in the field of QA 
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills 
  • Working Knowledge of Canadian, International QA Standards, CSA N286-12, CSA N299 series, ISO9001 Quality Management Systems is an asset 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearance, in support of the client requirements in Canada and/or USA, as appropriate
