Hatch Digital is currently seeking a Scrum Master to join our Smart Industries team and provide services for the North American region. This is a newly created role with opportunity to further expand our digital footprint. You will be a core member of a professional, collaborative, and inclusive team at our Mississauga location, with flexible work arrangements available.

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Promote and support Scrum as defined in the Scrum Guide by helping the team(s) understand Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values
  • Act as a servant-leader for the Scrum Team, enabling the team(s) to remove impediments and improve the interactions with those outside of the team
  • Facilitate Scrum events and other meetings as requested or needed (e.g. daily scrum/stand-up, planning, reviews, retrospectives, backlog refinement, etc.)
  • Support and coach the Product Owner and development team to understand and excel at their role
  • Champion agile development best-practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, TDD, etc.
  • Ensure team deliverables comply with applicable quality standards, best practices and processes
  • Employ and leverage standard tools and techniques to maximize team effectiveness (physical and/or virtual boards, collaboration and productivity software, etc.)
  • Monitor team activity, performance and progress towards sprint and release goals

 

Skills, experience and qualifications;

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business or equivalent
  • Sound experience in a complex technical agile product development environment
  • Knowledge of Agile approaches – Kanban, Scrum, XP, etc.
  • Knowledge and experience with Agile techniques – Backlog Management, User Stories, Test Driven Development (TDD), Automated Testing, Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD), agile estimating and planning, pairing, Agile games, etc.
  • Experience working in a global team environment and communicating effectively across multiple cultures
  • High level understanding of software architecture and systems modeling
  • Scrum Master certification (e.g. CSM or equivalent)
  • Agile product and release planning
  • Experience using VSTS/Azure DevOps for managing work (e.g. backlogs, boards, testing, etc.)
  • A good understanding of structured project delivery methodologies AGILE/PMBOK.
